Some years ago when I lived in norway, we were filming a movie for our school which ended in the cops comming with bulletproofvests and guns. Some people though our movie was a propper fight between two gangs and called the cops. Anyways. Rorys, on of my friends who were there, his dads friends girlfriend was the police chief at that department at the time, and she has told her boyfriend that this little incident cost the Bærum Police department 500 000. This is probably one of the most insane achievments of our OIS years

update from toronto

I thought i'd better post something, since it has been a while. Toronto has been good to us these last couple of weeks. on saturday we went on a demo against israeli apartheid and to boycott Indigo and chapters (two major bookstores here in canada). The major shareholders of these bookstores have created a fund so volunteers (who are not israeli citizens) can join the israeli army. the protest was even allowed to walk along bloor street. there were three people with israeli flad following the protest on the other side of the street. they apparently could not gather more anti support than that.
yesterday we went skiing with kathleen and lorien. was good, but very windy some places which made it really cold. laurence is getting very good at skiing. this week is reading week for me, so i will take a break from the forestry building (much needed break).

The sweedish people called me today and they're gonna come here and film me for 3 days. So far 
they have some english freegans, some people who make stuff from trash. Apparently I'm suppose to be the political /provokativ person in the show...haha

stupid blooger

why did google have to mess the whole stupid thing up so now we all gotta sign in with stupid google accounts which half of us don't even have. stupid google, making everyone get google accounts they don't even want. grrrr. coercing corporate fucks. google was supposed to be not evil. i guess they fell to the dark side of capitalism the moment they floated on the stockmarket. their profits might be soaring but their morals have sank like a poop that doesn't float. you know the ones. lars von (can't spell his last name) taught me that they're bad. or was it the other way around?

forestry stuff (sorry, got a bit carried away)

that is great emil. there is not much interesting stuff like that happening here. too busy at uni (and rather sick of it). although there was quite an interesting panel discussion about how to best emulate natural disturbances so to best manage for biodiversity and timber. what gets me though, is all this academia. i know we need academia to come up with all the clever stuff so that politicians and natural resource managers can make the best decisions. but what good is it when they say that we need to keep more snags cos it is better for biodiversity. sure, that is right, but how about telling that to the loggers out there and the MNR. they are not gonna jeopardies the safety of the workers when logging is already such a dangerous occupation and people die of snags. but since the forestry industry in ontario only contribute to 2% of the total "income" of the province, maybe we should just shut it all down and make it all into reserves. i mean, 2% is hardly anything compared to BC's 34%. so just make the whole of ontarios boreal into one big reserve, that is my best suggestion.

free trade

I've started working at the fair trade shop. It's actually pretty cool even though I don't get money for it. All I do is serve coffe and cakes and bake the cakes and sell cloths. They asked me today if I wanted to be in the fair trade group that decides what to buy and makes connections and stuff like that. I guess I've managed to charm them. Also, I got two nostrils piercings today. yey. I'm up to 15 now
